The course
What ages or grades is this designed for?
High-school personal finance, counted as 1.0 high-school credit. Families and co-ops can teach it over 6 to 36 weeks. A college or another school decides whether to accept a transcript. The outline is on Curriculum.
What do the chapters cover?
From the payments industry through a life with money: banking, investing, taxes, insurance, stewardship, budgeting, debt, saving, a venture of your own, calling, credit, major purchases, retirement, scams, generosity, and life stages. Browse them on Curriculum. Chapter 2 is free to read on the Chapter 2.
Is this a secular curriculum with Bible verses added?
No. Each lesson is taught through an industry God calls us to build, with Scripture in the chapter itself — not a secular course with Bible verses added on. See how the chapters are built on Curriculum.
Can I read a chapter before I buy?
Yes. Chapter 2, The Payments Industry, is free to read. No account and no card. Open it on the Chapter 2. Plans start at $49 on Pricing.
Is the free chapter the whole course?
No. Chapter 2 is the free reading. The other eighteen chapters come with a paid plan. Start on the Chapter 2, then see Pricing.
Does a sample week carry into a paid course?
No. Buying starts a new paid course. Sample reading stays on the free Chapter 2.
Do I have to be a finance teacher to use this at home?
No. The chapter carries the teaching: The history, then how it works now, then a heart check in Scripture. Parents receive weekly emails and PDF report cards. Troy wrote the course. Katie edited it and teaches it at our homeschool co-op. Their story is on About. The map of lessons is on Curriculum.
Grading
How does grading work?
Automated grading against a rubric. All work is graded automatically against a robust rubric. You can override any suggested grade. Objective answers are scored against the answer key. Written answers are scored against the rubric. The walk-through is on How grading works.
Can a teacher or parent override a grade?
Yes. You can override any suggested grade. The grid keeps the grade you choose, and the transcript follows that grade. How grading works.
Can a student ask a teacher to review an answer marked wrong?
Yes. A student can one-click to ask a teacher to review any answer marked wrong. That step is on How grading works.
Do overrides update the rubric?
Yes. Every override is logged, and we use them to improve the rubric. The rubric follows the chapter, and the chapter is built on Scripture. Read that on How grading works.
Who has the last word on a grade?
All work is graded automatically against a robust rubric. You can override any suggested grade. You keep the last word. See How grading works.
